María Florea to Appear at ModComFest 2026, Celebrating the Music of Max Richter
Born into a family of musicians in Esparreguera, near Barcelona, María Florea began playing the violin at the age of four and gave her first solo performance when she was only seven years old. Since then, she has established herself as one of the most distinguished musicians of her generation, appearing as both soloist and chamber musician in some of Europe's most prestigious venues, including the Palau de la Música Catalana, L’Auditori Barcelona, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, and London's renowned Wigmore Hall.
Having studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, and the Musik-Akademie Basel, María Florea brings to the stage a remarkable combination of technical brilliance, artistic sensitivity, and expressive depth.
A member of the celebrated Trio da Vinci since 2018, María has also performed extensively as a soloist internationally, including a recent nineteen-concert tour across China.
At ModComFest 2026, audiences will have the opportunity to experience María Florea's unique artistry in a programme dedicated to the evocative and deeply emotional sound world of Max Richter. Her refined musical voice and profound interpretative insight promise to make this performance one of the highlights of the festival.
